Novak Djokovic, the Serbian Tennis legend, won the Australian Open for the tenth time as he defeated Greek star Stefanos Tsisipas on January 29, Sunday and got carried away by the moment, as tears rolled down his eyes post the hard-fought win. For the unversed, Djokovic was not a part of the Happy Slam last year due to his anti-vaccine stand.

Commenting on the win, former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt claimed that the Serbian star was lucky to have not born in Pakistan and took a dig at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) saying that he would not have been able to play cricket after getting past 30. Winning his tenth Australian Open title, Djokovic bagged his 22nd Grand Slam title and created history.

Djokovic looked in the fine nick on a crucial day and left no space for the Greek opponent to make a comeback in the game as the former went on to clinch the game with a scoreline of 6-3, 7-6 (7/4), 7-6 (7/5). In awe despite his defeat, “I very much enjoy the way I play, my attitude on the court, my mental stability, my concentration levels,” Tsisipas was quoted as saying after the defeat.

He wouldn’t have been able to play cricket after turning 30: Salman Butt

Butt, on his YouTube channel, claimed that it was Serbian’s fortune to be born in his country and play tennis as things would have been worse if he played cricket if born in Pakistan. The 35-year-old will leave no stone unturned to carry on with the form and prove his prowess yet again in the upcoming Grand Slam games.

“Shukr hai wo tennis khel skta hai. Pakistan mein hota to 30 saal se upar cricket nahi khel skta tha (Good that he plays tennis. If he was in Pakistan he wouldn’t have been able to play cricket after turning 30). He wouldn’t have been able to play even after scoring three hundreds,” Butt was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel as he congratulated Djokovic for the mighty win.
