The director is getting ready to give the web series world something you could never have imagined he could do with ‘Showtime’. ‘Showtime’ will fearlessly portray the good, bad, and ugly aspects of the business. Karan Johar has become a producer for Showtime, with an ensemble cast that includes actors such as Emraan Hashmi, Mouni Roy, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajeev Khandelwal, and others. Fans are giddy and applauding the ensemble after Karan Johar released the Showtime trailer.

The teaser showcases the struggles faced by outsiders as the industry’s bad boy, played by Emraan Hashmi, talks about nepotism and how everyone wants to become an insider. The ultra-glamorous portrayal of Mouni Roy in the Showtime trailer has viewers excited about Rajeev Khandelwal’s significant role. Moreover, the legitimacy and weight were further increased by the presence of Naseeruddin Shah.

Karan Johar is back with a bang:

Karan Johar is one of the most vilified and trolling directors in the industry. Among many others, actress Kangana Ranaut charges him with favouring insiders and star kids only. It will be interesting to see if Karan talks about the real unpleasant parts of the film industry or offers his own viewpoint.

In reference to the encouragement of nepotism, Karan once said he had no qualms about working on films that included star children or not. The filmmaker said, “I don’t want to talk about my struggles because my life wasn’t easy and my father wasn’t a well-known movie producer who brought me into the world after making a hundred successful films. I always say that nepotism exists in Bollywood, just like it does in many other industries.”

Karan Johar continues, “Sure, it allows you entry and the benefit of your first shot, but you’re out if you trip or fail. Despite the five or ten examples of nepotistic stars who have succeeded, there are about 300 stars who are no longer in the spotlight. In actuality, a rising percentage of the amazing movie stars of today have no connection to the motion picture business. I believe that I have some responsibility for this discussion starting on my show.”
