The first part of the Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran film Salaar is scheduled to open in theatres on December 22, 2023. The film’s striking images and immersive cinematic experience have generated a lot of buzz. Prabhas, an action star back in his element, has fans giddy with anticipation. The movie’s trailer also makes you feel like a KGF, which raises hopes that Salaar will be the biggest blockbuster of 2023. But just one day before its premiere, the film’s box office receipts suffered greatly in the southern markets.

Salaar, the Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran film that has captured the interest of viewers, particularly in the south, has suffered a serious setback. PVR INOX and Miraj Cinemas are allegedly showing preference for the Shah Rukh Khan film Dunki over Hombale Films’ Salaar. According to a Hombale Films spokesperson, PVR INOX and Miraj Cinemas first pledged that Dunki and Salaar would receive equal screen time, as reported by PTI. However, they broke their promise, giving Dunki more screen time than Salaar in both theatres.

Salaar’s box office report:

The spokesperson went on to say that in order for everyone to be in agreement, talks have been going on for the past two days with the respective theatre owners of PVR INOX and Miraj Cinemas. PVR INOX and Miraj theatres, however, stood by their choice. The producers of Salaar have chosen not to release their film in PVR INOX and Miraj in the southern states due to the unfair treatment they have received.

Salaar: Part 1 has successfully secured the maximum number of shows in both Telugu and Hindi box office, according to Sacnilk.com. The Prabhas starrer has secured 1,398,285 tickets for its opening day, and it is estimated to collect ₹29.31 crore on its first day. In Telegu, the movie has managed 4068 shows, while in Hindi, it will have about 3803 shows.

The movie Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan, is currently showing in theatres today, and Salaar will debut on December 22, 2023, tomorrow. Positive reviews are pouring in for the Rajkumar Hirani film, which some have compared to Jawan and Pathaan. Which movie will do best at the box office will be interesting to watch.
