Shoaib Akhtar shares video of special moment between Babar Azam and Netherlands captain after latter’s win against South Africa

Former Pakistan pacer, Shoaib Akhtar has shared a heartwarming video of an interaction between the Netherlands and Pakistan captain, following the Netherlands’ win over South Africa. In the video, Babar Azam could be seen thanking the Netherlands captain for beating South Africa in the Super 12 clash on Sunday.

In response, Edwards asked Pakistan to win their next match against Bangladesh as that would help Edwards’ team qualify for the next edition of the 20-20 World Cup.

Ahead of the clash between South Africa and the Netherlands on Sunday, the former needed to win the match to secure their berth for the semis. However, Temba Bavuma and Co. suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of the Netherlands by 13 runs. With the defeat, South Africa were knocked out of the semi-final race.

Besides, it also gave an opportunity for both Pakistan and Bangladesh to seal their place for the knockouts. As it turned out, Babar Azam and Co. beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets on Sunday to become the second team to reach the semi-finals.

The win also helped the Netherlands end the Super 12 stage at the number four position, which means they have qualified for the next edition’s 20-20 World Cup. The top four teams, who have qualified for the semi-finals are India, Pakistan, New Zealand and England.

India are currently playing their last Super 12 match against Zimbabwe. They will finish at top of the table if they manage to beat Zimbabwe. However, a defeat will help Pakistan stay at the top. If the Men in Blue finish the Super 12s at the number one spot, then they will play against England in the semi-final 2 match on 10th November at Adelaide Oval Ground.
