Shoaib Akhtar is famously nicknamed the Rawalpindi Express. His bowling action used to be a sight for the ages. When he used to run in at full tilt with his hair flowing in the direction of the wind, the batter used to be at his wits end as to what to expect from the Pakistan pacer and it used to be a memorable duel more often than not. Akhtar’s bowling action is iconic and it continues to be imitated even today.

Recently, Akhtar posted a video of an elderly fan. The man was imitating Shoaib Akhtar’s bowling action. He put the clip out on his official Instagram handle and captioned it saying.”Aray wah. 100 mph at 100. I’d love to meet him. Dhoond k layen koi.”. Shoaib was all praise for the man and said it was very heartening of him to run in and bowl like this given his age. He said he would love to meet the person and asked people to find him so that he could connect with him easily.

Shoaib Akhtar has picked 444 wickets overall for his country

The right-arm pacer has featured for Pakistan in 224 matches for his country. Overall, he has picked u[ a whopping 444 wickets for the Men In Green. He had a cherished 14-year-long career as a fast bowler. At 161.4 kmph, that is one of the fastest deliveries in the history of cricket. This happened at Cape Town against South Africa at the 2003 World Cup.

Pakistan have done very well recently. The Men in Green made it to the finals of the 20-20 World Cup in Australia. They were in a spot of bother in the competition after they suffered back-to-back losses against India and Zimbabwe. Then they stormed back with wins against South Africa and Bangladesh. The World Cup will be held in the subcontinent nation for the first time since 2011. When it was held last in 2011, India won the cup on home soil that year. The Men in Blue beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets to lift the World Cup for a second time since 1983.
