‘Shantipriya never left us’ – Netizens react as Deepika Padukone dazzles in a shimmery saree and a big hair-do at BAFTA 2024

India was well-represented by Desi girl Deepika Padukone at last night’s 77th British Academy Film Awards in London. Wearing a pale shimmering Sabyasachi saree, her hair styled up, and her go-to smoky eyes for beauty, Deepika presented an award at the ceremony for Best Film Not In The English Language, which was won by director Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest.

The Internet examined Deepika’s ensemble and declared it to be perfect. Comments on photos that Deepika Padukone uploaded prior to the BAFTAs praised her choice of saree as well as her styling. The Internet was also reminded by Deepika’s timeless appearance of one from her very first movie, 2007’s ‘Om Shanti Om’, in which Shah Rukh Khan co-starred.

Following ‘Om Shanti Om’, Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan reunited for a number of films, including ‘Happy New Year’, ‘Pathaan’, and ‘Jawan’. She appeared in ‘Fighter‘ opposite Hrithik Roshan as an Air Force officer, and her next film is ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘ with Prabhas. Deepika has gained international recognition in the past few years. She presented at the Oscars last year and served on the Cannes Film Festival jury in 2022, during which she donned two sarees.
