‘Shant ho jao, woh gaali nahi de rahe’ – Indian fans get trolled after Scott Styris ‘Big dog’ comment on MS Dhoni
The Indian T20 League is around the corner. All the big stars have descended in India. The commentary panel of the Indian T20 League is star-studded. It has the likes of Sunil Gavaskar, David Hussey, Mathew Hayden, and Danny Morrison. Steve Smith is the latest addition to this commentary panel. A lot of foreign players have made their way to India for the tournament.
A video of MS Dhoni practising at Chepauk with big crowds has gone viral on social media. The video has been reshared a lot of times and one of them to do so was Scott Styris. While resharing Dhoni’s video on social media. Styris had captioned it saying: “Still the big dog around town!!”. Big dog means ‘The best at something’ . The former New Zealand cricketer did not mean to show Dhoni in bad light. But he meant to praise MS Dhoni with the expression. But the fans did not interpret it in the right way.
Here is the tweet:
Still the big dog around town!! 👏👏 https://t.co/aDy8dInlIn

Chennai finished in ninth place in 2022 Indian T20 League season
People on social media said Styris had made a wrong remark on MS Dhoni. But, in reality, the fans had taken the meaning in a wrong way. Chennai have won four Indian T20 League titles. The Yellove Army did not have the best of seasons in 2020. In that season the tournament was played in the UAE. Chennai could not hit their straps early on. They finished in 7th place that season with six wins and eight losses and had 12 points when the season ended.
In the 2022 season, Chennai won four games and lost 10. The franchise finished with just eight points. They had a change in captain for half the season. The move with Ravindra Jadeja did not work out. The all-rounders game was impacted in the 2022 edition. After half the season, MS Dhoni was reinstated as captain. The franchise and Jadeja had a bitter feud in 2022 but it was resolved in the end and all is well between the two parties.
Here is how the fans were trolled:
Styris is referring MS Dhoni as a notably prominent, important or powerful person in Chennai.. 💥 pic.twitter.com/orzpOeeLN4

Half the guys here haven't heard of the expression 'big dog' lmao. This comment section cracks me up. Good thing WWE switched from calling Roman big dog to tribal chief

Well in foreign countries they say 'big dog' for someone who is extraordinary and powerful but unfortunately in india many take that word in different sense. I am laughing after seeing the comment section.
