Shahnawaz Dahani sends advance birthday wishes to Virat Kohli, calls him the ‘Artist of Cricket’

Virat Kohl has been in top form in the 20-20 World Cup, having scored 220 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 144.73. Kohli played the innings of his life in the first match against Pakistan where he scored 82 off 53 balls to guide India to an improbable win.

The star cricketer will celebrate his 34th birthday on Saturday, however, the wishes have begun pouring in for the modern great. Recently, Pakistan cricketer Shahnawaz Dahani wished him one day ahead of his birthday.

Dahani, who is in the Pakistan squad as a backup player for the 20-20 World Cup, took to Twitter on Friday to share a photograph with the star cricketer and wrote,

“Just couldn’t wait for 5th Nov to wish the artist who made cricket the most beautiful. Happy birthday @imVkohli the #GOAT. Enjoy your day brother & Keep entertaining the world.”

Kohli left the entire cricketing fraternity awestruck with his scintillating knock against Pakistan which guided India from 54/4 after 12 overs to successfully chase down the target of 160. His incredible shot against Haris Rauf on the fifth ball of the 19th over left everyone dumbfounded as he plundered a massive six down the ground off the back foot.

After his stupendous innings against Pakistan, he notched up another half-century against the Netherlands.. The 34-year-old has been dismissed just once in the entire tournament taking his average to a mammoth 220. While batting against Bangladesh on Wednesday, he also surpassed Mahela Jayawardene to become the leading run-scorer in the history of the 20-20 World Cup.

The former Indian captain now has 1065 runs to his name in 23 innings at a strike rate of 132.46 and an unbelievable average of 88.75. He also has the most number of fifties to his name in the history of the tournament i.e 13. Kohli has been awarded the prestigious ‘Player of the tournament’ award twice in the 20-20 World cup. The star batter is also the leading run scorer in T20 internationals having 3932 runs to his name at an average of 53.13 and a strike rate of 138.45.

With India marching towards a semi-final spot, fans will expect another magnificent knock as a birthday treat from Kohli against Zimbabwe on Sunday.
