‘Shaaandaarr kishann🔥🔥 You beautyyy!! ‘- Fans in awe of Ishan Kishan’s breathtaking fastest double-century in ODI history
Ishan Kishan has been in some form for India when he played in the Blue Jersey. The left hander from Jharkhand has been in good hitting form in the third ODI so far. He has played a superb knock of an unbeaten 200 off 126 balls with 22 fours and 9 sixes. This was his maiden hundred in ODIs. This also became his maiden double hundred in ODI’s The free-flowing batter opened the batting in place of Rohit Sharma who missed the third ODI due to a blow to his thumb. Ishan Kishan can also chip in with the gloves if required as he has some keeping experience.
When we look at Kishan from this series, he has been preferred ahead of Shubman Gill in the pecking order. This is a clear message that they might be looking to have Kishan in the side as a left-handed option at the top or even may be looking at him as an option in the middle order with his keeping being a bonus. He became the fourth Indian to score a double hundred and this was also the fastest ODI double century in Men’s ODI.
He put the Bangladesh bowlers to the sword and smashed them to smithers. Every shot he played went out for four or six. It was an innings for the ages. He had a 290-run partnership with Virat Kohli for the second wicket. In what has been a short ODI career so far, Kishan has scored 362 runs from 10 games. At an average of 45.25 and at a strike rate of 96.27. He has been in form and has made good use of the opportunities given to him. Against Bangladesh he showed what he was made off.
Kishan made headlines in the 2022 Indian T20 League auction by going for a sum of 15 crore INR to the Mumbai franchise in an intense bidding war last year. This has been a stupendous innings by Ishan Kishan, It was an innings full of bold shots with a lot of authority and one that put the bowlers under pressure.
