‘Seriously you want us to believe that?’ – Fans react as Nana Patekar apologises for smacking a young boy in viral video!

Recently, a video of the veteran Indian actor Nana Patekar went viral on the internet. In the video, the actor could be seen smacking a young boy hard on his neck. The context of the video was unclear as it was short. However, we could tell that this was from the sets of his upcoming film. Nana could be seen busy shooting a scene for his film with director Anil Sharma. They are on the local and busy streets of Varanasi. Just then, a young boy comes and asks the actor for a selfie. In a split second, the veteran actor smacks him hard and shouts at him. The boy then runs off in another direction.

This viral video sparked a debate on the internet. The actor who had last found himself in the #MeToo controversy seemed to be getting stuck in a new one. However, before things got out of hand he issued an apology video and clarified things with his fans. The actor confessed that this was a part of the scene in the film. They had already done one rehearsal and were onto the next one. He was waiting for the director’s orders just then a young boy came and Nana thought it was a crew member. He then smacked him as it was required of him in the scene. However, he later realised that it was not a crew member but a fan. But before he could call him back he had run off from there.

The leading media channel ANI took to their official social media handle to post the video apology. The actor was heard saying in the video, “A video of me hitting a boy is going viral. Even though this sequence is in our film, we only had one rehearsal…We were supposed to have another rehearsal. The director instructed me to begin. We were about to start when the boy from the video arrived. I didn’t know who he was; I assumed he was one of our crew members, so I slapped him and told him to leave. Later, I discovered that he was not a member of the crew. So I was about to call him back, but he got away. Perhaps his friend took the video. I’ve never turned down a photo shoot. This is not something I do…This happened by chance…Please forgive me if there was any confusion…I will never do something like this again.”
