‘SENA conditions mein uska batting dekhna baaki hai’ -Fans react as Saud Shakeel becomes first batter to hit seven fifties in seven Tests
Pakistan have had a great tour in Sri Lanka in the two Test match series so far. Pakistan won the first Test at Galle against Sri Lanka by 4 wickets. In the second Test. The Pakistan bowlers were all over the Sri Lankan batters like a rash. Abrar Ahmed picked up a four-wicket haul in his 20.4 over spell. He was well supported by Naseem Shah who scalped 3-41 in his 14-over spell. Sri Lanka’s tale of woe with the bat continued as they were bundled out for just 166 runs in the first innings at Colombo.
Dhanajaya de Silva was the lone warrior for the Islanders as he struck a quickfire 57 off 68 balls with nine fours and one six. In the second innings, the Pakistan batters sent the Sri Lankan bowlers on a leather hunt. Shaan Masood played a fast knock of 51 off 47 balls with 4 fours and one six. At the time of writing, the score is 397-4. Saud Shakeel also continued on his merry way and struck a well-made 57 off 110 balls with six fours. Shakeel had smashed a brilliant unbeaten 208 off 361 balls with nineteen fours in the first Test.

Along with a precious half-century for the Men in Green, he became the first player to score a half-century in his first seven Tests. In the first Test, the left-hander proved his mettle by orchestrating a great partnership with Agha Salman who made a valuable 83 off 113 balls with nine fours and one six. Then he stitched another long partnership with Naseem lower down the order. Shah played out a block-a-thon of deliveries which allowed Shakeel to score a well-deserved double-century.
The right-arm batter made 6 off 78 balls with one four. Coming back to the second Test, with two days of play still left, the Men in Green have firmly put themselves in the driver’s seat. The two sides will again meet each other at the Asia Cup which will be co-hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan with Pakistan having the hosting rights.

His spin game is good but not that great to face the likes of Ashwin and Jadeja. He obviously needs to improve his pace game both on the front foot and the back foot
