Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next ‘Love and War’ to feature Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film’s cast has been revealed! Bhansali Productions announced on social media on Wednesday that Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor will be starring in their upcoming film. ‘Love and War’ is the name of the project. The title and cast announcement has come after a lot of speculation from the media and fans.
Taking it to their official social media handle, the filmmaker dropped an official statement and made his special announcement. The statement read, “We bring you Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic saga ‘Love & War’. See you at the movies! Christmas 2025″ The statement revealed the names of the three leading actors of the film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has pulled off a casting coup as he bags a never-seen-before trio of Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal. The caption read, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next EPIC saga ‘LOVE & WAR’ starring #RanbirKapoor @aliaabhatt & @vickykaushal09. See you in Cinemas on CHRISTMAS 2025!”

Fans enthusiastically responded to the announcement in the comments section. “I’m eager to experience Bhansali’s magic. Wow, this cast is so amazing!” a fan wrote. “My three favourites in one movie, what could be better than this?” exclaimed a different fan. Another comment said, “Y’all, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt are returning! The greatest pair ever.”
After ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ in 2022, this project is Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt’s second joint venture. Thanks to her role in the movie, Alia was awarded the National Award for Best Actress. In the meantime, this marks Ranbir Kapoor and the director’s second partnership. 2007 saw Ranbir Kapoor make his acting debut in ‘Saawariya’.
In 2019, Sanjay Leela Bhansali declared that ‘Baiju Bawra‘, a musical saga, would be his next film to be directed. His plan was to start working on ‘Baiju Bawra‘ in 2020, following the release of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Starring in the movie was also on the cards for Ranveer Singh. It appears, though, that the movie has been shelved.
