Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) locked horns against each other at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday. RCB won the toss and chose to bat. Faf du Plessis played a good knock of 45 off 32 balls with five fours and one six. He was caught by Axar Patel off Mitchell Marsh. The star of the show for RCB was Mahipal Lomror who played a wonderful innings of an unbeaten 54 off 29 balls with six fours and three sixes. This allowed the Bold Army to reach 181-4 in their 20 overs.

What made headlines in the first innings was the heated exchange between Mohammed Siraj and Phil Salt. There was a verbal volley that was fired, and things started to get a little bit out of hand. But it ended well because the two embraced once the match was finished. There were simmering tensions on both sides, but it finished with a happy ending. RCB were treated to a pinch of ‘Salt’ as Salt destroyed the RCB bowlers.

Delhi Capitals beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets

The Englishman orchestrated a wonderful innings of 87 off 45 balls with eight fours and six sixes. There were small contributions from David Warner, Mitchell Marsh and Rilee Rossouw which allowed DC to chase the target of 182 with 20 balls left. Warner made 22 off 14 balls with three fours and one six. He was caught by Faf du Plessis off Josh Hazelwood. Marsh made 26 off 17 balls with three fours and one six. He was caught by Lomror off Harshal Patel.

Rossouw played a good knock of an unbeaten 35 off 22 balls with one four and three sixes. This is DC’s fourth win in five games. It looks like they have found the correct combination to work with and things are looking good for them. In the run chase, the DC batters came out swinging as the RCB’s spinners were ineffective and could not produce vital breakthroughs for their side.

RCB should look to come back stronger in their next game against the Mumbai Indians. A miss firing middle order for the Bold Army has made things complicated and has not given them consistent results. For DC they have to continue to punch hard so that the results come their way. DC face Chennai Super Kings in the next game.
