South Africa vs India

SA vs IND 2nd T20I: Check weather forecast, playing conditions and records at Gqeberha

The first T20I between South Africa and India was washed out.

The second T20I between South Africa and India is set to take place at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. The focus is on the weather at the venue for the match between the two top sides in the world. The first T20I between the two sides was washed out at Kingsmead in Durban due to the interruption of rain gods. Fans are waiting to see if the play will be possible.

Unfortunately, the weather is not so promising for the game between India and South Africa for the second T20I at the venue. The weather in Gqeberha is not ideal for the play on the scheduled day. It is likely to remain cloudy during the scheduled time and the weather could hover around 22 degrees centigrade and 14 degrees centigrade throughout the day.

There is an 83 per cent chance of precipitation during the match, which means that the play might be interrupted by rain. The humidity for the match is around 74 per cent. The wind speed would be around 30 mph. Bowlers would enjoy bowling at the venue, particularly after the rain interruption. But the biggest question is if the match could be played at the venue.

Playing conditions to favour the bowlers?

Historically, St George’s Park has been good for the batters to score runs. But given the weather for the day, the bowlers might dictate the terms, if the play is to happen. Rain is likely to play spoilsport, but not to an entire extent. In the passage of play, bowlers are likely to get some assistance, as the wind speed and temperature indicate a good swing on offer for the pacers.

In South Africa, pacers usually get some assistance. But the weather makes it a lot more bowler-friendly. But with the batters being able to adapt to the conditions, they should not find it difficult after a certain period. A total of around 160 to 180 should be good, as chasing the targets has not been easy at the venue historically. Teams winning the toss might be confused to make a decision.
