As Rohit Sharma completed his fifth century in the third T20I against Afghanistan, he went past Virat Kohli’s record of the most runs scored by India’s T20I captain. Kohli had the highest score of 1570 runs which Rohit has now surpassed. His performance in yesterday’s match helped him achieve this record. Even though Kohli failed to make the crowd happy, Sharma’s century amazed the entire country.

Apart from Rohit and Kohli, there’s another Indian who is there on the list. Mahendra Singh Dhoni holds the third place on the list with 1112 runs. It is indeed a proud moment for India as the Indian cricketers hold the top three places. This does speak a lot of India’s dominance in the shortest format of the game.

India won the third T20I against Afghanistan. With this win, they won the series and whitewashed the visiting team. Even though the match took a dramatic turn, India went on to win the match. Rohit Sharma scored a century and Rinku Singh scored a half-century. The visiting team almost won the match, however, two super overs turned the course of the game.

Two super overs in a single T20I match

The India vs. Afghanistan match saw a dramatic turn when the visitors managed to reach the given target. As they failed to score one run, the match went into super over. That was not it. As India was chasing the target of 17 runs in the super over, Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to score two runs in the last ball. Thus, the game went into another super over.

This time, Afghanistan batters couldn’t chase a score of 12 runs in the second super over and lost the match. Rohit Sharma’s century and his brilliant performance in the super overs helped India win the match and conquer the series.
