Rohit Sharma silenced his critics by putting up a wonderful show against Australia in the ongoing first Test against Australia. He smashed his first Test hundred against Australia on a turning pitch at Nagpur.

Rohit played a wonderful innings under pressure and made sure to hold one end up when the Indian top order was not at its best. He went into the lunch break batting at 118 off 207 balls with 15 fours and two sixes.

The Indian captain demonstrated his skills at a venue where the ball spun and turned, and he showed his class yet again in testing conditions. The right-handed batter started aggressively and treated the bowlers with respect when they bowled to their field.

He saw some tough spells and phases in the game and played at a good tempo to get his 9th Test ton. The 35-year-old also showed that same level of class and tenacity on testing conditions in 2021 at home against England at Chennai.

This knock is somewhat similar to that knock as he scored the runs in testing conditions and against a quality bowling attack. He has shown that he has got the grind and has put in a lot of effort to do well in Test cricket.

Rohit Sharma made his first Test Hundred against Australia and as captain

He showed what he was made of when he opened the batting in Test match cricket in 2019 against the Proteas as he scored three hundreds in that series. This is his first Test hundred as captain. The Mumbai batter has batted with a wonderful combination of stroke play and sound defence.

India and Australia had intense preparation camps in the build-up to the series, and Australia had a four-day camp at Bengaluru. They hired the services of Mahesh Pithiya, the off-spinner from Baroda, who had centered his bowling in a similar style to Ravichandran Ashwin.

On the first day of the Test match, India managed to bundle out Australia for 177 on the board, thanks to the services of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Ashwin picked up 3-42 in his 15-over spell and Jadeja picked up 5-47 in his 22-over spell.
