The Indian T20 League starts today, March 31. The greatest T20 League on planet earth is back. The first fixture will be held at the Narendra Modi stadium. Gujarat and Chennai will be participating in the season opener. The Gujarat team will be looking to defend their title, while Chennai will hope to win the trophy again, in what could be MS Dhoni’s last season.

The battle of the captains will be a good duel to watch out for. Meanwhile, ahead of the start of the cash-rich league, Rashmika Mandanna and Tamanna Bhatia, who will perform in the opening ceremony, revealed their favourite cricketers. The leading ladies have named Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. Kohli has been with the Bangalore franchise since 2008. MS Dhoni has been with the Chennai franchise since 2008. Dhoni has led the side from then to now. Kohli has played for Bangalore and also led the side from 2013 to 2021.

Chennai have won four titles in the Indian T20 League

MS Dhoni has led Chennai to four titles in the Indian T20 League, while Chennai have made it to the playoffs 9 times. The ‘Yellove Army’ have created a huge legacy in the tournament. Bangalore have not won a trophy in all of the seasons so far. The franchise, however, has made it to three finals. The ‘Bold Army’ has also made it to the playoffs in the last three seasons.

Chennai have brought in Ben Stokes to bolster their side in this edition. The franchise has to deal with Stokes not bowling for this season. The England international will play purely as a batter as he is carrying a knee injury. Mukesh Choudhary has also been ruled out for Chennai. The left-arm quick picked up 16 wickets in 2022 for the franchise. Bangalore also have their fair share of injury problems as well.

It is reported by the Times of India that Josh Hazelwood will miss seven matches for Bangalore. Rajat Patidar has a heel injury. The player has not got NCA clearance and it remains to be seen when he will be available. Wanindu Hasaranga will miss a couple of matches for the franchise as he is playing for Sri Lanka.
