The fall-out from the India versus Pakistan ODI World Cup 2023 game doesn’t seem to end. Mickey Arthur had made some unsavoury comments at the end of the game during the press conference. This hasn’t sat down well with the Apex Cricket Body who are set to review the Pakistan Team Director’s comments.

The Pakistan team had lost to India by a huge margin in Ahmedabad on Saturday. The margin of the loss was seven wickets as India strolled home to an easy win. Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer scored fifties as India achieved the target in the 31st over.

Both India and Pakistan will be in action in this week’s games of the ODI World Cup 2023 campaign. On Thursday India will face off against Bangladesh in Pune while Pakistan is set to take on Australia a day later in Bengaluru.

Mickey Arthur’s comments under scanner –

After India’s win over Pakistan on Saturday, Mickey Arthur the Pakistani Team Director came up with a very weird argument. The South African-born coach said “ It didn’t seem like a global event to be brutally honest, it seemed like a bilateral series. It seemed like an Indian Cricket Board event. I didn’t hear Dil DIl Pakistan coming through the microphones too often”

The song in reference has been a huge hit across the border and has been used to bolster the team spirit. Mickey Arthur’s comments did spark a meme-fest as the fans came out in droves to troll the South African.

Mickey Arthur also suggested that the absence of Pakistani fans also played a part as the huge stadium intimidated the players. “So yes, that does play a role, but I’m not going to use that as an excuse because for us it was about living the moment, it was about the next ball, and it was about how we were going to combat the Indian players tonight”

When asked about the lack of Visas being given to Pakistani fans, Mickey Arthur didn’t get drawn into the talk. Grant Bradburn the coach of Pakistan though wasted no time and had his say. Grant Bradburn said that the Pakistani fans would love to visit India and had hoped the Indian fans would welcome them.

Even Grant Bradburn toed Mickey Arthur’s line when he said “So yes, that does play a role, but I’m not going to use that as an excuse because for us it was about living the moment, it was about the next ball, and it was about how we were going to combat the Indian players tonight”
