The Indian fans were in shock to see their captain getting dismissed for a two-ball duck against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2023. Tanzim Hasan Sakib dismissed the 36-year-old for a duck and sent shockwaves to the Indian dugout. As a result, India was in trouble at the start of their run chase. The celebration of Bangladesh showed the value of the wicket.

Chasing a target of 266, India needed a good start against Bangladesh. Unfortunately, Rohit had no answer to the delivery of the 20-year-old. It was one of the rare instances where the star batter was dismissed for a duck. It is fair to say that the law of averages caught up with the Indian batter, who has been in very good form in the 2023 Asia Cup.

The tail wagging meant that India conceded a score of over 250 runs on the board. There were way too many slower ones which were premeditated by the Bangladeshi batters. the fuller ones were cleverly dispatched to the boundary by Bangladeshi batters. The match is irrelevant in terms of its impact in the 2023 Asia Cup qualification scenarios. But a bad performance in the match before the big final can dent the confidence of the Indian players.
