In 16 seasons of the league, Royal Challengers Bangalore are yet to win the title. The team has finished runners-up thrice with the IPL 2016 season being the latest. Despite boasting of some big names, the Bangalore-based unit has always fallen short.

As the team embarks on yet another IPL title hunt, RCB fans will be glued to TV on Tuesday. The IPL Mini Auctions is set to take place in Dubai with the team having INR 23.75 Crores in their kitty.

Mo Bobat shares secret recipe for potential success

Indian cricket fans may not be too aware of Mo Bobat but Royal Challengers Bangalore have hired the Englishman ahead of the new season. Mo Bobat is the director for Cricket with RCB and he wants to win the league in 2024.

Ahead of the IPL 2024 Auctions, Mo Bobat said to the media “Mohammad Siraj is a core part of what we do so supporting Siraj with some more bowling options including overseas bowling options is going to be a real priority for us moving forward. Then we have got a core of local spinners, which I think is quite strong. Some of them got some opportunities over the last year or two and they might play more leading roles moving forward,”

Josh Hazlewood, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Harshal Patel are some of the names that RCB has let go recently. The trio had played a huge role in many RCB wins in the past few years. Australian player Cameron Green was traded from Mumbai Indians for INR 17.75 Crores which shocked many fans.

RCB’s new director of cricket also said “You can teach accuracy and craft, but you can’t easily teach pace or manufacturing balance. Identifying players with these innate qualities is crucial”.

Earlier today there was an IPL Mock Auction which was held and RCB had won the race to sign Mitchell Starc. The Australian pacer has played two seasons in Bangalore and is set to make his IPL return after a long time.
