‘Ramiz raja bhavna main beh gaya hain’ – Fans react as he compares Babar Azam to Don Bradman
In a shocking statement, former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja compares Babar Azam to Don Bradman. The Pakistan skipper has been in good form when it comes to the ODI format. In the ODI series against New Zealand, he is third on the list of highest run scorers in the series so far. The right-hander has racked up 275 runs in four games with an average of 68.75.
In the fourth ODI which was played in Karachi, Babar whipped up a majestic 107 off 117 balls which propelled Pakistan to 334-6. In reply, New Zealand could not mount an attack on the Pakistan bowlers as they crumbled to 232 which was the lowest total in the series so far. The games have been played at venues which had good batting conditions on offer. In ODI Babar has notched up 5088 runs in 99 games with an average of 59.85 and a strike rate of 89.31.
He has no technical issues – Ramiz Raja on Babar Azam amidst his comparison to Don Bradman
“Babar Azam is no less than Don Bradman,” Raja said on his Youtube channel. “In white-ball cricket, he has statistically become the best player in the world. “I have never seen so much consistency from a player in such a risky format. “The base of which is his technique and temperament. He has no technical issues, whether it is a grassy pitch or a pitch like Karachi, where bowlers generally struggle.” Raja added.
Pakistan will play the final ODI against New Zealand on Sunday. After the Men in Green beat the Kiwis by 102 runs they ascended to the number one spot on the ODI rankings. Babar got to the landmark of 5000 ODI runs in his 97th inning. He went past Hashim Amla who completed the milestone in 101 innings.
“He is fastest to 5000 ODI runs and has surpassed many legends like Viv Richards, which is a big achievement. He is the reason why Pakistan has become the number one team in ODI rankings,” Raja further explained his point. The Men in Green will look to annihilate the blackcaps and get a clean sweep in the fifth ODI at Karachi.
Let us take a look at the reactions on Twitter:
Exaggeration of Babar's ability. He has yet to come close to many greats like Sachin, Viv, Lara, Sangakkara etc. He is no match to Don Bradman and for the matter of fact, no other batsmen is. Babar scores runs alright but he is not someone an opposition fears of.

That too when Babar made more than 70% runs of his career against minnows and B or C string teams.

Ramiz Raja insulted Babar Azam by comparing him with Don Bradman. Bradman was only a test player while Babar is playing very well in all formats. Babar's record is even better than Vivian Richards in white ball. He is currently most valuable cricketer in the world. #BabarAzam𓃵 pic.twitter.com/cDFgbXbKj5
