In the ongoing Premier League match match in Guwahati on Wednesday, Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson opted to bowl first after winning the toss. The starting lineups for both teams were the same as in their prior match.
Last night, rain poured continuously from midnight until almost four in the morning. However, by the time the match had started, the weather appeared to be ideal, so Punjab supporters won’t be hoping for another game marred by rain.
Ahead of the game, the Rajasthan franchise will be counting on their nearly flawless combinations in almost every area of the match to put up another dominant showing. The Rajasthan franchise’s decisive 72-run win over Hyderabad, that were outplayed by the runner-up from the previous season in every facet of the game, will give them encouragement.
How did the match between Punjab and Rajasthan begin in the Indian T20 League?
Punjab got off to a fast start, thanks to Shikhar Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh, who crossed the 50-run threshold in just five overs. As Dhawan watches the performance from the other end, Prabhsimran Singh has served as the more aggressive of the two. Rajasthan, meanwhile, is in serious requirement of a wicket.
The final delivery of Jason Holder’s over could have ended with a catch but it granted Prabhsimran a fortunate reprieve. Prabhsimran sliced it after Holder bowled it broad coming at length. Padikkal tried to make the catch but loses balance, as he ran too far, and was unable to hang onto it.
Prabhsimran continued on 44 while Punjab scores 64 runs while in the powerplay. He was able to complete his first half century of the tournament as he completed it in just 28 balls in the eighth over of the game. He looked in extremely lethal touch and looks set to make a name for himself in this year’s Indian T20 League.
