‘Prithvi ko ye Sapna dekhna bhari pad gaya’ – Sapna Gill registers criminal complaint against Prithvi Shaw after getting bail
Prithvi Shaw appears to be in murky waters as social media influencer Sapna Gill has asked an FIR to be docked against Shaw. She has filed an application for the same at a Mumbai Police Station. This was done because it was claimed that Shaw and his friends put her to shame.
Gill was apprehended at Police Station in Mumbai with some others when it was alleged that she attacked Shaw when the two got into a heated argument over a row of clicking selfies in a five-star hotel. She was let out on bail by a magistrate court on Monday.
In the application given by Gill, she and Shobit Thakur who is a friend of hers, found Shaw, who was partying at a five-star hotel, and was in an intoxicated state. The application mentioned that it was not taken kindly when Thakur asked Shaw for a selfie. It went on to state that Thakur made repeated attempts with the same request.
“Thakur, who is just a teenager, was unaware of the brutality of the drunken mob. Thakur was helpless and was unable to defend himself. Hence, she (Gill) intervened and entered the fray trying to stop Shaw and others from further harming and injuring Thakur,” The application stated. Shaw got back into the Indian T20I side against New Zealand.
Gill claimed in the application that Shaw outraged her modesty, which is a punishable offence under 354 (molestation) and other provisions of the Indian Penal Code. In the scuffle that broke out, Shaw’s car was attacked with a baseball bat. The incident happened on February 15. Gill was arrested on February 16 and Thakur was apprehended on February 18, according to police.
Eight persons were charged with rioting, assault, putting a person in fear of death or grievous hurt in order to commit extortion, criminal intimidation and other offences by Oshiwara police in connection with the incident on the complaint made by Shaw’s friend Ashish Yadav. According to police, a fierce argument happened after Shaw refused to entertain more selfies.
