‘Players have been informed verbally to avoid..’ – Indian Cricket Board replies after Virat Kohli post his yo-yo test score on Instagram
Virat Kohli shared the results of his yo-yo test on social media, and soon after, the Indian team management ordered its players to “avoid” making their fitness test results public. It is understood that the Indian cricket board executives didn’t like their star player disclosed what they deemed to be confidential information and should not be publicly leaked.
“The happiness of finishing the Yo-Yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 don.,” Kohli posted on his social media account earlier on Thursday.
A six-day conditioning program was started by the Indian team management on Thursday. On the first day, players had a yo-yo test to determine their level of fitness. But the yo-yo score can change because they are playing nonstop cricket. The team administration has requested that players at the very least follow the established fitness standards.
“Players have been informed verbally to avoid posting any confidential matter on social media platforms. They can post pictures while training but posting a score leads to breach of contract clause,” an Indian cricket board official confirmed.
But the yo-yo score can change because they are playing nonstop cricket. The team administration has requested that players at the very least follow the established fitness standards. Players who complete a 13-day fitness program will get a full body exam, including a blood test, prior to the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. The Indian Cricket Board does not want to take a chance with the World Cup right around the corner, so trainers will examine their physical fitness and any who don’t satisfy requirements will be pulled up.
India will play Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023
The 13-day schedule was required of players who had just returned from the West Indies but had not travelled to Ireland for the three-match T20I series. They consisted of the team’s skipper Rohit Sharma, the all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja, the fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj, as well as Kohli. The two-part exercise routine, with a day of relaxation in between, was to be followed from August 9–22. It was created to maintain every player in top form for the World Cup and to avoid injuries that might end India’s World Cup hopes.
Asia Cup 2023 is set to be played from August 30 with host Pakistan taking on Nepal in their own backyard whereas India will be kick-starting their campaign against Pakistan which will be played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on September 2.
If both the teams qualify for the next round then there is a strong possibility that one can witness the high voltage match of India as well as Pakistan once again. Although both India as well as Pakistan are set to play in the ODI World Cup 2023 as well. Both the cricketing giants will be locking horns against each other at the marquee tournament on October 14 in Ahmedabad.
