‘Phir bhi ticket nahi milega’- Fans react as Indian Cricket Board set to release 400,00 match tickets on September 8 ahead of ODI World Cup 2023

The 2023 World Cup will be held in India. to address the high demand for World Cup tickets, the Indian Cricket Board has come up with a plan.  They are set to give away a quantum of 400,00 tickets for the tournament. 10 venues will play host to the tournament. The move from the Indian Cricket Board is aimed at catering to the needs of a billion cricket fans in India who are very excited about the tournament. India last co-hosted the World Cup in 2011 along with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

When it comes to the sale of tickets, it will happen from 8 AM IST on September 8 2023. Fans can purchase the tickets by visiting the official ticketing website at https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com. Fans will be notified of the further sale of tickets in the next phase in due course.  The Indian Cricket Board deeply acknowledges that fans are the heartbeat of the tournament, and their unwavering passion, engagement, and contributions are pivotal to the success of the  Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

There has been a lot of furore over the sale of World Cup tickets which was undertaken by the Indian Cricket Board’s appointed aggregator Book My Show. Fans however were left fuming and seething over the experience with social media flooded with posts for the Indian Cricket Board who had partnered with BookMyShow for the sale of tickets in India. Some of them said that a lesser number of tickets were on sale for big games like that of India versus Pakistan, slated to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14, as they compared it with the total seating capacity.

“The Indian Cricket Board deeply acknowledges that fans are the heartbeat of the tournament, and their unwavering passion, engagement, and contributions are pivotal to the success of the  Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, after discussions with the hosting state associations, the Indian Cricket Board has announced the release of approximately 400,000 tickets for the highly anticipated tournament. This measure is aimed at accommodating as many passionate cricket fans as possible, ensuring their participation in this historic event,” the statement added.
