‘Phil Salt ne toh dhaaga khol diya RCB ka’ – Fans react to a convincing win for DC over RCB in the IPL
The Delhi Capitals and the mighty Royal Challengers Bangalore squared up against each other in the 50th match of IPL 2023 in Delhi. Both teams wanted a win to keep their campaigns going on a good note.
RCB opted to bat first after winning the toss and, once more, the legendary duo of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli gave their team the necessary start. Although Mitch Marsh destroyed the connection as he sent both du Plessis and Maxwell on consecutive balls in the 11th over to give DC momentum. The opening pair of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli added 82 runs for the opening wicket.
RCB were under pressure after fall of two quick wickets. However, deploying Lomror at number 4 during the innings, definitely, paid off. He produced a quickfire 29-ball 54 with three sixes and six fours. It was Lomror’s knock that had provided RCB a decent total as the others failed to get the big hits.
With 181, not only RCB but DC will be content because by no means the pitch was slow, but the ball was coming out wonderfully.
As soon as David Warner and Phil Salt started hitting with a great strike rate, it meant that their side were in the chase. Siraj, the finest powerplay bowler in this IPL, was taken on by Phil Salt, who smashed him for two sixes as well as a four. Hazlewood’s slower one surprised Warner, but Mitch Marsh, who took over him, kept up the pressure.
In addition, Phil Salt simply wouldn’t give up as his knock of 87 was made up of six gigantic sixes. As a result of these two getting out late in the innings, the duo were not able to finish the game. This meant Rilee Rossouw was able to register a hit with a quick 35 from just 22 balls. That concluded an impressive victory for DC, who moved ahead of SRH from last place even as their opponents from today stayed in fifth.

RCB losing is my source of happiness. I love seeing their fans cry. It's my daily medicine, my weekly energy, my monthly inspiration and my yearly motivation. Their loss is the only reason i'm still alive. I was born to love and enjoy that, long may it continue
