‘Pehle message toh khud se type karlo lala’ – Fans react as Shahid Afridi addresses Jay Shah in his latest Tweet about Pakistan hosting India in Champions Trophy 2025
Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has found himself in the news again. This time Afridi is in the news after he tweeted lashing out at Jay Shah over his recent comments. Jay Shah is the secretary of the Indian Cricket Board and has been in the news recently for his comments on Pakistan as a cricket host.
Shahid Afridi on Thursday took to the social media platform Twitter and had a go at the head of the Asian Cricket Body Jay Shah. The former Pakistan captain defended his country and its right to host cricket matches. Afridi seemed to list out all the teams that have visited Pakistan in recent times to play international cricket.
Shahid Afridi tweets out his reply to Jay Shah
The Indian Cricket Board’s secretary and the head of the Asian Cricket Body Jay Shah faced a rebuttal from Shahid Afridi. Jay Shah in a press release had said “All the full members, media rights holders, and in-stadia rights holders were initially hesitant to commit to hosting the entire tournament in Pakistan. This reluctance stemmed from concerns related to the security and economic situation prevailing in the country”
Former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi took to Twitter and wrote “I came across Mr @JayShah’s statement about security situation in Pakistan. Just to refresh his memory, Pakistan has hosted the following foreign players/teams in the past six years”
Shahid Afridi then went on to list all the tours and events that have been hosted in Pakistan. Afridi wrote about the amount of PSL games that were hosted. He also went on to write about the multiple tours that have taken place in Pakistan recently. Australia, England, New Zealand, and South Africa have toured Pakistan recently.
Pakistan has also hosted a few games during the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 tournament. Multan began as the host for the opening game between Pakistan and Nepal before Lahore hosted three games. The last game of the tournament to be played in Pakistan was between the hosts and Bangladesh in the 1st game of the Super Four stage.
The focus now shifts to Colombo as Sri Lanka and Bangladesh clash on Saturday. The big game on Sunday is what the fans are waiting for. India and Pakistan will clash for the 2nd time in a bid to make it to the finals. While the fans are hoping for a classic contest, weather could have its say during the course of the game.
Here’s how the fans reacted –

PSL:- no crowd, no floodlight, no chairs and TTP workers attacked on stadium In 2023 almost 5-6 months ago
Asia Cup:- no crowd, no flood light, you need army for security in stadium, no digital screen
You can't even host 4 matches properly in Asia Cup on which basis you're saying… pic.twitter.com/zkfw3zono5— Tanzee 🥀 (@Tanzeel_sp) September 7, 2023

Have no doubts India will not travel in 2025. In fact, they should not.

He thinks that hosting teams like aus, eng and hosting india is the same thing. Thanking to BCCI again for not sending indian players to pakistan for Asia cup

I heard the floodlights stopped for 20 mins between the match of Pakistan vs Bangladesh? As an international match of Asia cup if this happens how can you vouch for security of any team forget about India. We are not asking any fund from anyone INDIA has stood on his own leg 👎
