‘Pehle fit hone bol usko’ – Fans react as Harmanpreet Kaur says she wants Rohit Sharma back in form for IPL 2023
Rohit Sharma has had an underwhelming season in the Indian Premier League so far. He has scored 184 runs so far in the tournament with an average of 20.44. The Mumbai Indians skipper has a strike rate of 129.57. The 36-year-old has scored just one fifty in the competition so far. MI, however, are starting to hit their straps after the halfway stage of the tournament has completed.
They are placed at sixth on the points table. Paltan are on 10 points with five wins and four losses. MI will go up against the Chennai Super Kings on March 6. Whoever wins the game will vault up to second place on the points table.
Rohit has a lot of fans and one among them is MI Women’s Premier League skipper Harmanpreet Kaur.
“We’re all Rohit Sharma fans and he’s a very important player for MI. We all want him to come back in his best form”, She said ahead of the game against CSK.
Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets in the reverse fixture in IPL 2023
The El Classico of the IPL will be played on March 6. The last time CSK and MI faced each other, it happened in Mumbai. CSK’s bowlers put in a great performance in that game. The spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner put a chokehold on the MI batters and picked up five wickets between them. This meant that MI could only muster 157-8 in their 20 overs.
In the run chase, Ajinkya Rahane put on a show against MI. The Mumbaikar scored a tantalising 61 off 27 balls with seven fours and three sixes. This enabled CSK to wrap-up the target of 158 in 18.1 overs. The reverse fixture will be played at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium where the pitch has turned from a spinners paradise into a batting paradise. But conditions could be slightly different, considering the early start.
CSK have won four IPL titles. In the case of MI, they have won five. CSK’s last game against Lucknow Super Giants was abandoned. MI are coming off a big win against Punjab Kings. All in all, it will be cracking encounter to watch out for. MI will be looking to continue winning, while CSK will look to snap MI’s streak.
