Australia’s skipper Pat Cummins took a 5-wicket haul in the first innings of the third Test game against Pakistan at Sydney Cricket Ground on January 3. Notably, the hosts have already sealed the series after winning the first and second Test games in Perth and Melbourne, respectively. However, Pat Cummins once again showed his lethal form, which might help them whitewash the series against the Pakistani team, as he went on to dismiss Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammed Rizwan, Shadab Khan, and Hasan Ali.

Speaking about the game here, Pakistan skipper Shan Masood won the toss and invited Australia to bat first in the game. However, after being sent to bat first, they had an awful start as their openers Abdullah Shafique and Ayub were dismissed on duck. However, Mohammed Rizwan and Salman Agha pile up half-centuries, which puts them in a decent position against Australia.

We’ve had two fantastic Test matches against Pakistan: Pat Cummins

Meanwhile, Pat Cummins was quite confident enough ahead of the third and final Test game. The right-arm pacer calls the first and second Test games against Pakistan fantastic. Moreover, the 30-year-old cricketer feels Test cricket is a highly competitive game.

“My hopes are that it’ll be even stronger than it is now, in ten years’ time or 20 years’ time. We’ve had two fantastic Test matches against Pakistan, really well supported, big crowds. So I don’t think it’s in as dramatic a decline as sometimes it gets spoken about. But I think there is an issue just with the amount of other cricket out there, obviously, competition for talent is higher than it’s ever been,” Pat Cummins said ahead of third Test game.

Here are the Playing XI for the Australia vs Pakistan Test game:
