Pakistan star cricketer Mohammad Rizwan praises Indian fans for special welcome in Hyderabad

Mohammad Rizwan scored a hundred against New Zealand in the practice match.

Pakistan started their ODI World Cup campaign with a tough loss against New Zealand in the practice match. In Hyderabad, Pakistan was outplayed in all the departments by the Kiwi side. Though Pakistan lost the match, there were a lot of positives for them in the match. Babar Azam and Saud Shakeel scored an impressive fifty for them. But it was Rizwan who took the cake with his hundred.

The middle-order batter scored 103 runs in 94 balls, which came at a good strike rate of 109.57. the knock of Rizwan included 9 fours and 2 sixes. He came in at 46/2 after 11.2 overs and helped Pakistan up the ante. Against an attack consisting of Matt Henry, Lockie Ferguson, Mitchell Santner, Rachin Ravindra, Ish Sodhi, and James Neesham, Rizwan scored a fabulous ton.

After his knock, Rizwan about his performance and praised the Indian fans for an amazing welcome. “A hundred is a hundred, proud and happy of it. Scoring a century for Pakistan is always special. The Indian crowd gave us a lot of love at the airport itself, just like how our fans love us back in Pakistan. We were welcomed in India in a great way,” Rizwan said after his knock against New Zealand.

‘I play according to the team requirements’ – Mohammad Rizwan 

“In T20Is I open for Pakistan, in Tests I bat at 6-7 and in ODIs I bat at number 4, I play according to the team requirements. Saud Shakeel is in great form, and he played a classy knock today. Hopefully, he turns out to be a great player in the ODI format as well. I and Babar try to rotate the strike, we bat similarly, our communication is good and that helps us,” added Rizwan.

Pakistan got a great reception from the Indian fans in the Hyderabad airport. the likes of Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and others got huge cheers and were overwhelmed by the support from India. The match against New Zealand provided a good opportunity for Pakistan to test some of their players. Despite losing the match, Pakistan seemed confident in nature.
