‘Paisa wasool kar raha hai yeh jersey ka’ – Fans react as spectator in CSK jersey spotted at the Oval during WTC 2023 Final

The final of the WTC 2021-23 cycle is being played between India and Australia at the Oval, London

Australia significantly tightened their hold on the game on Day 3 of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021–23 Final after an unusual session went in India’s favour. India managed to score 296 from the overnight score of 151/5 before getting bowled out by the potent Australian pacers. Ajinkya Rahane put up a heroic 89 off 129 balls, but Shardul Thakur’s 51 and Ravindra Jadeja’s 48 were equally important.

Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia, had the best bowling figures with 3/83 in 20 overs. Nathan Lyon only had one wicket, but Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland, and Cameron Green all returned with two each. Australia was able to move into the second innings with a 173-run lead thanks to a team bowling performance.

As such, a fan was spotted in the stands of the Oval in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jersey and naturally, the viral images gained a lot of traction online. CSK recently won the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 by beating Gujarat Titans (GT) by 5 wickets in the season finale.

Australia lead India by 296 runs at stumps, Day 3

David Warner edged an outswinger from Mohammed Siraj and India to enable KS Bharat to take a quick low catch early in the Australian innings. After tea, Usman Khawaja, the other Australian opener, was shown the way to the pavilion by Umesh Yadav.

Following the removal of the two openers, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne continued to forge a potent partnership. On Day 3, Smith continued to struggle against Ravindra Jadeja as Australia’s third wicket fell. Both first-inning centurions were eliminated, as Jadeja continued his bloodbath by taking the wicket of Travis Head.

At 123/4 at the end of Day 3’s 44 overs, Australia increased their lead to 296 runs. With 2/25 in 9 overs, Ravindra Jadeja leads the Indian bowling line. Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur have yet to add any wickets to their second-innings totals, while Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav have claimed one.
