Jos Buttler has been a brilliant batter for the Rajasthan Royals side in the Indian Premier League over the past few years. The star batter has been very consistent playing for the Men in Pink and Blue. His best performance came in 2022 when he won the Orange Cap and helped his team reach the final.

The English skipper has continued his form in the IPL 2023, having already scored 204 runs in four innings at a brilliant strike rate of 170. He has now completed 3000 runs in the cash-rich league and is the third-fastest player to reach the milestone.

It took him just 85 innings to achieve this massive feat. Only the now-retired player Chris Gayle (75 innings) and LSG skipper KL Rahul (80) innings are ahead of him. The RR team opener achieved this feat in the 17th game of the 16th edition of the IPL against Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Buttler went on to score a brilliant half-century in the match after completing 3000 IPL runs. He scored 52 runs in 36 balls, which included a boundary and three sixes to power RR to a score of 175/8 in their allotted 20 overs.

The inaugural season champions looked out of touch in the match as they could not up the scoring rate on a good batting wicket. Apart from Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal (38 runs in 26 balls), Ravichandran Ashwin (30 runs in 22 balls), and Shimron Hetmyer (30 runs in 18 balls) also made some contributions.

For CSK, Akash Singh, Tushar Deshpande, and Ravindra Jadeja all took one wicket, while Moeen Ali got one. The Men in Yellow will now look to get a win under their belt to get two points and move up the points table.
