India and Australia are taking on each other in the fifth match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. Both teams are playing this match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in the hot weather conditions of Chennai. The current temperature at the stadium is around 34 degrees Celsius, which is something to which Australian players are not used to playing regularly.

Meanwhile, the Aussies have also been seen feeling quite uncomfortable in the heat of Chennai. Star batters were, Steve Smith and David Warner were also seen taking rest between the overs due to the extreme heat there on the ground.

However, the weather conditions couldn’t affect the presence of fans on the ground as they turned out to the ground in huge numbers to watch India’s ODI World Cup 2023 campaign opener against the five-time champions, Australia.

Speaking of the ongoing action of the match between India and Australia, the visitors are looking in trouble as they have lost 5 wickets on the score of 138 runs in 35 overs, having all-rounders, Glenn Maxwell and Cameroon Green there in the middle on the individual scores of 14 and 7 runs, respectively.

Earlier, the veteran opener David Warner and former skipper Steve Smith stitched a crucial partnership of 69 runs for the second wicket in Australia’s favour before they faced a sudden collapse at quick intervals. Warner played a knock of 41 runs before getting trapped by Kuldeep Yadav. Other than him, Steve Smith also contributed with 46 runs by the time he fell prey to Ravindra Jadeja and got clean bowled.

Ravindra Jadeja has bowled brilliantly for India so far in the first innings, he has scalped 3 wickets at the cost of just 28 runs in 8 overs. Apart from Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav also claimed one wicket each.
