After being asked to bat first, the Indian team have been bowled out for just 186 runs on the board. Rohit Sharma played some-good looking shots during his 31-ball 27 before Shakib Al Hasan bowled him out in the 11th over.
Shikhar Dhawan was the first one to depart as his struggles continues in ODI. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, was left in disbelief as he was caught at covers, thanks to a sensational catch from Litton Das.
India, as a result, had lost three wickets for just 49 runs on the board. KL Rahul then joined hands with Shreyas Iyer and the duo led the team’s recovery.
They added 43 runs for the fourth wicket before Iyer perished, once again, by a short ball. He got out after scoring 24 runs in 39 balls. Wickets fell in short intervals but KL Rahul held firm at one end.
He exhibited his class with a sensational knock of 73 runs in 70 balls, including 5 fours and 4 sixes. Thanks to his knock, India managed to notch some sort of a total on the board. The likes of Washingston Sundar (19), Shahbaz Ahmed (0), and Shardul Thakur (2) also failed to hit the straps as KL Rahul didn’t get the support he needed at the other end.

KL Rahul at No. 5 is a big luxury for India. The position requires immense skill to bat in various situations, and KLR has it all. The only dubiety, as of now, is his ability in run-chases; he averages 24 in 7 innings in the middle-order. It may however be a sample-size issue.

Brilliant innings from KL Rahul. With Siraj providing a good support, he should have at least looked to get to the 200-mark.
