News Anchor compares MS Dhoni to Rinku Singh, he stuns everyone with an astonishing reply
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Rinku Singh became the poster boy in town when he smashed five sixes in the last over off Gujarat Titans (GT) fast bowler Yash Dayal in Ahmedabad. His heroics gave KKR an unlikely win. The world stopped to see his miraculous feat and marvelled at Rinku’s heroics. From cricketers to Bollywood and American stars, all of them went ga-ga over his hitting.
Rinku was the hot story and the superstar was invited to do several interviews. In one of the interviews, when asked about comparisons with MS Dhoni, he said that it is a very farfetched thing and that he is just doing his job. He said the two cannot be compared. On being asked by the interviewer about how he feels being called ‘Kolkata’s Dhoni’, he said, “I’m what I am, cannot be compared to Mahi Bhai”.
KKR were 155-7 when Rinku Singh bailed them out with his heroics to clinch the game
KKR looked down and out when they were chasing a target of 204 to win. They were staring at a bottomless pit at 155-7. When Shardul Thakur got out. But Rinku turned the tide with his belligerent hitting in the last over. With Umesh Yadav, Rinku scored 14 runs in the 19th over bowled by Josh Little. Then Umesh very intelligently took a single of the first ball and gave Rinku the strike.
In the 20th over bowled by Dayal, Rinku took a liking to him and smashed him to smithereens. His bat did the taking as he whacked Dayal for five sixes. Dayal was crestfallen, He could not comprehend what had just happened. KKR had won from the most unlikely situation. After the game, KKR sent a very warning message to Dayal and told him to hold his chin up. Rinku also had a chat with him after the game and said such situations do arise on a cricket field.
It was the second time in two games that KKR got out from the most unlikely circumstances. The Chandrakant Pandit-coached side have found new heroes to stand up every time. The fans of KKR will hope this keeps happening so that KKR could have yet another great IPL season on 2023.
