Navdeep Saini ties the knot with long-time girlfriend
31-year-old Indian pacer, Navdeep Saini has married his girlfriend Swathi Asthana. On November 23, the couple took to Instagram to share pictures from their special day. The lovely pictures were accompanied by a caption in which the couple announced their decision to spend the rest of their lives together. “With you, every day is a day of love. Today, we decided on forever. Seeking all your blessings and love as we start a new chapter of our life”, they wrote.
Cricketers Mohammed Siraj, Devdutt Padikkal, Unmukt Chand, Chetan Sakariya, Rahul Tewatia, Mohsin Khan, Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh left congratulatory comments on the post.
While Saini is a well-known figure, fans do not know much about his wife, Swati. Going by her Instagram account, she is a fashion, travel and lifestyle blogger. She has followers in excess of 80000.
Saini will hope for some Lady Luck
Navdeep Saini’s promising talent has been overshadowed by inconsistency and injuries. Limited to just 21 international appearances since his debut over four years ago, Saini has also struggled in the IPL, featuring in just six games in the last three seasons. he has picked up as many wickets, but his economy rate of over 12 has been a cause for concern.
Navdeep Saini was part of India’s incredible Border-Gavaskar Trophy victory in 2020-21, but he hasn’t been able to add to his Test caps since. An impressive run in the domestic season saw him return to the Test setup for India’s tour of the West Indies earlier this year. However, he failed to get a game.
He also played a game for Worcestershire in the County Championship this year which didn’t really go in his favour. His last competitive appearance came in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he managed to pick up just four wickets in seven matches in what is another underwhelming performance. With the recent addition of lady luck to his life in the form of his marriage, Saini and his fans will hope that things can take a good turn for the right-arm quick.
