On Tuesday, the National Film Awards were held in Delhi. It was a star-studded affair as the most prominent personalities from the entertainment industry were present to receive their accolades from the government. Earlier, it was announced that Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon bagged the award for Best Leading Actress for their films Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi respectively. Now, a picture of these two winning actresses is doing rounds on the internet as they pose with the legendary veteran actress Waheeda Rehman.

Apart from Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, and Waheeda Rehman the picture also features the Best Supporting Actress winner Pallavi Joshi. These young starlets were all smiles while posing with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award recipient Waheeda Rehman. On social media, the picture-perfect frame is currently trending. In the photo, Kriti could be seen standing next to Waheeda, while Pallavi and Alia were seen posing for the camera on the opposite side.

Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, and Waheeda Rehman:

For their roles in Gangubai Kathiawadi and Mimi, respectively, Kriti Sanon and Alia shared the Best Actress Award. Pallavi Joshi, who starred in Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files, won the Best Supporting Actress award. Waheeda was pictured alongside Alia, her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor, and Best Supporting Actor winner Pankaj Tripathi in another image.

President Droupadi Murmu presented Waheeda with India’s highest film distinction while she was inconsolable.  While accepting the award she said, “I feel honoured and very humbled. But today where I stand, it’s all because of the lovely industry I have been a part of. Luckily, I got an opportunity to work with top directors, producers, filmmakers, technicians and music directors, who supported me and showered me with lots of love and respect.”

She further added, “Lastly makeup artists, hair and costume designers also deserve a special mention. Hence, I want to share this award with all departments of the film industry. One person cannot make an entire film, it’s a collective effort.” In the meantime, Alia looked stunning in her white wedding saree. She and Ranbir arrived for the ceremony. Ranbir was seen taking pictures with his phone as she got the trophy. Allu Arjun, the first Telugu actor to win Best Actor for Pushpa: The Rise, was seated next to Kriti Sanon.
