‘Muqabala jaari hai’ – Fans react as Gautam Gambhir and Rajat Sharma exchange barbs at each other on social media after fallout with Virat Kohli
Gautam Gambhir seems to be on a war footing. On Wednesday, the former India cricketer had an ugly war of words with senior Journalist Rajat Sharma. Rajat Sharma was also once the president of the Delhi District Cricket Association. The journalist also covered the heated argument that happened between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli. This took place in the game between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Rajat lashed out at Gambhir on his evening news program at India TV. He alleged that Gambhir’s ego was overinflated ever since he became a Member of Parliament in the Bhartiya Janata Party. He also took another potshot at Gambhir saying that a very aggressive player like Kohli could stand up to Gambhir and give it back to him if needed. Rajat said Gambhir’s actions were not at all proper and that incidents like these also tarnished his image as an MP as well.
Here are the tweets:
Gautam Gambhir doesn't hold back 👀

Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli had a bitter exchange during the LSG vs RCB game at Ekana Stadium
Gambhir, who is not one to back down easily, sent a fiery response back at Rajat tweeting, “A man who ran away from the job of running Delhi Cricket, citing pressure seems over-eager to sell paid PR as concern for cricket! yhii klyug’ hai jhaaN ‘bhgodd’e’ apnii ‘adaalt’ claate haiN (It is, perhaps, a testament to the times we are living in that a truant is running his own court),” , to which Rajat immediately shot back.
‘Says someone who was sacked by KKR and retired in the middle of tournament for DC by breaking contract’, Rajat wrote on twitter.
Rajat was appointed as DDCA president in July 2018 but he left the position in November 2019. Gambhir had, earlier, shook Kohli’s hand aggressively. When Kyle Mayers went up to Kohli to have a chat, Gambhir was also seen pulling Mayers away.
Gambhir and Kohli were fined 100%of their match fees. Naveen-ul Haq, after his aggressive altercation with Kohli, was fined 50% of his match fees. The conflict between Gambhir and Kohli sprouted from the M Chinnaswamy stadium where RCB had last played LSG.

You are an MP. Isn’t it shameful for you to pick fight with cricketers who represent our nation. Don’t even understand how you find time for cricket coaching, that too for IPL. Constituency and administration is just retirement perks, is it?

Man who ran away from his Constituency to earn money in commercial league. This shows priority of non serious public representative, who keep abusing for all failure and victories. People should pull collars of such representative, who abstains from office and don't even ask…
