The fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 will be played in Ahmedabad. Narendra Modi Stadium will host the final game of the series. The venue was erected a few years and it has beaten Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia in terms of capacity. The ground has hosted a Day-Night Test match and a regular Test match against England in February 2021.

As reported by VION News, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present at the venue and also is likely to spin the coin at the toss. Generally, the coin at the toss is spun by the home captain. It was earlier reported that Modi and Australia PM Anthony Albanese will come and watch Day One of the Test match.

Australia has qualified for the Test Championship Final

India has a 2-1 series lead in the four-Test match series as they racked up big wins in Delhi and Nagpur. In Nagpur India got a big win of an inning and 132 runs. At Delhi, India defeated Australia by six wickets. The home side got a jolt at Indore as the Aussies defeated India by 9 wickets.

India will want to win the all-important Test at Ahmedabad which will take place. If India loses the fourth and final Test match then India’s percentage points won in the Test Championship will drop to 58.79 percent. If they lose the Test then their percentage will drop to 56.94 percent and if that happens, India will have to rely on New Zealand to beat Sri Lanka on its home turf. On the other hand, if Sri Lanka fails to beat New Zealand then India will go through.

Australia has already qualified for the Test Championship final which will take place in England at the Oval between June 7 to 11. It will be played shortly after the conclusion of the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League. India lost the 2021 Test Championship final which was also held in England against New Zealand.
