Model-actor Poonam Pandey dies of Cervical cancer, confirms manager
Bollywood model and actor Poonam Pandey dies on Friday. The 32-year-old actor was dragonized by cervical cancer, which became a cause of her sudden death. The official statement that was posted by the manager of the actor on her Instagram page reads, “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared (sic).”
The news of Poonam Pandey’s death has sent shockwaves in the film industry. During the rise of the Maldives-Lakshadweep issue, Poonam was one among the actors who voiced her opinion and cancelled her shoot in support.
‘She got detected with Cancer and it was her last stage’
Poonam Panday has also worked in Kannada and Telegu movies such as Love is Poison and Malini & Co. Poonam Pandey made her Bollywood debut in the year 2013 with the film ‘Nasha’. She was last seen in a reality show ‘Lock-upp Season 1’.
The Instagram post initially had made a lot of people worried about the news. Several comments indicated towards awareness campaign against cervical cancer. Parul Chawla, Poonam Pandey’s management in an interview with India Today said, “She got detected with cancer sometime back and it was in the later stage. She was in UP her hometown, and the funeral will mostly happen there. We are yet to get more details.” The actor was not just known for her profession on screen but also for her bold and versatile presence on social media.
