Former England captain Michael Vaughan has backed star Indian batter Virat Kohli to go big in the fifth Test at Edgbaston. Vaughan further said that if Kohli gets to 30, he’ll surely score a hundred as he’s been desperately wanting it for a long time.

“The Indian player to look out for at Edgbaston this week is Virat Kohli. Just go back a few years when he produced one of the greatest Test match centuries on this ground. I think he’s due. When you look back, how long has it been since he got three figures,” Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.

“It’s been a long, long while for Virat Kohli, if he can get to 30, I reckon he’s gonna get those three figures that he’s been desperately wanting for such a long period of time. So, Virat Kohli, the Indian player to look out for,” he added further.

Former Ashes winner also predicted England to register a win in the Test and draw the series 2-2. He believes the juggernaut of Brenedon McCullum and Ben Stokes will carry on at the Edgbaston.

Vaughan, while giving his prediction for the game, said:

“Edgbaston, England on the back of three wins against New Zealand, I see nothing but an England juggernaut carrying on. India have had lots of turmoil with selection, injuries, COVID issues. I see nothing but an England win. I think this England juggernaut of Baz and Ben combination will carry on at Edgbaston. I see nothing but an England victory, it maybe a hammering. ”

The fifth Test between England and India has got underway with England winning the toss and putting India in to bat first. On being asked at the toss about his decision to bowl first, England captain Ben Stokes said that the team has been chasing well going into this Test match. Hence, he decided to bowl first. The average score batting first at Edgbaston is 308. The pitch generally gets better for batting as the match progresses.
