In big Football news coming in, Lionel Messi has been suspended by PSG for embarking on a personal professional trip to Saudi Arabia without obtaining the requisite permission. As per reports, Messi had sought out permission so that he could travel out of the country. He did do the formalities on Sunday night. Messi had pushed back his trip to Saudi Arabia twice because PSG had lost both their fixtures at that time.

The club did not give the permission to Messi and so the PSG striker has been suspended for two matches. He has also been slapped with the fine of two weeks wages. This decision was made after two meetings had taken place between Messi and the top brass of the club. Pictures of Messi were doing the rounds on social media. He went to Riyadh and put out his presence on all social media platforms. Messi is already serving as Saudi Arabia’s tourism ambassador.

Messi’s contract with PSG is slated to end in two months

PSG have stuck to their guns and have declined to comment publicly on the issue. As per PSG’s new policy which has come into being due to Nasser Al-Khelaifi the president who stated that no one is bigger than the club and everyone will have to adhere to the same set of rules. As a result, Messi will not be a part of the team during the Ligue 1 matches which will take place against Troyes and Ajaccio.

However, Messi could make a return to the side for the match against Auxerre which will take place on May 21. The Argentinian is on the final footing when it comes to his two-year contract with PSG. There are also reports saying that Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal want to bring Messi into their setup when his contract with PSG expires. They are ready to cough up a whopping sum of 400m Riyal to do the required marketing there. If the deal is sealed, then both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will play in Saudi Arabia.
