AB de Villiers has picked Rashid Khan as the greatest player in T20 of all time. De Villiers has not had it easy against Rashid in the Indian T20 League. The former South African captain has scored just 45 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 109.75 and Rashid has dismissed de Villiers three times.

Rashid, in the Indian T20 League, has been a superstar. In the 92 matches that he has played, the Afghan spinner has picked up 112 wickets at an average of 20.83. When Rashid burst onto the scene for Hyderabad in the Indian T20 League, he was very tough to pick because of his quick arm action and the fact that he used to bowl at very high speeds.

Rashid Khan picked up 19 wickets in Indian T20 League 2022 for Gujarat

For Hyderabad, he picked up 93 wickets in 76 matches at an average of 20.83. He has also scored 222 runs for the Orange Army and has proven to be a valuable batter lower down the order. His best knock for the side came in a playoff game against Kolkata, where he scored important runs with the bat and then picked up wickets with the ball to help Hyderabad win against Kolkata.

In 2022, he was picked up by the Gujarat franchise where he, in 16 matches, picked up 19 wickets at an average of 22.15 and also scored 90 runs for the franchise with the highest score of 40. He helped Gujarat to win its maiden title in 2022 which was led by Hardik Pandya. Rashid has played all around the globe and has been a T20 maverick for franchises all over the world.

Rashid continues to be a wonderful asset for franchise sides because of the unpredictability and the mystery element that he brings to his bowling as a wrist spinner. The pace at which he bowls is very difficult for the batters to pick the ball and negotiate the bounce as well. Rashid’s foray into franchise cricket has opened doors to many other Afghan players as well.
