Javed Miandad, the legendary batsman, hurled further criticism at India, arguing that Pakistan shouldn’t play any games there, even in this year’s ODI World Cup, unless the Indian Cricket Board decides to send a team to his country first. The exciting World Cup match between Pakistan and India is slated to take place at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad on October 15 according to the preliminary schedule created by the ICC.

“Pakistan has been to India in 2012 and even in 2016 now it is the turn of the Indians to come here.” – Javed Miandad

The former Pakistan batter spoke about how the Pakistan team shouldn’t go to Australia even if it means missing the World Cup. He said, “If I had to make a decision I would never go to India to play any match, even the World Cup. We are always ready to play them (India) but they never respond in the same manner. Pakistan cricket is bigger…we are still producing quality players. So I don’t think even if we don’t go to India it will make any difference to us.”

However, the 66-year-old former skipper believes that it is now time for India to pay Pakistan a visit in return. The 50-over Asia Cup brought India to Pakistan for the last time in 2008. Due to ongoing political difficulties between the two countries, bilateral cricket relations have been stopped since that time. Miandad thinks politics and sports shouldn’t be intermingled.

After Pakistan was compelled to host the upcoming Asia Cup using a hybrid model and India played all of their games in Sri Lanka, Miandad launched a new offensive. Miandad, a strident opponent of India, didn’t like this choice. He added, “It was on the cards that they would again not send their team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup so it is time we also take a strong stand now.”
