Virat Kohli has been a superstar in Indian Cricket. The maverick batter has piled on the runs for India on countless occasions. The former India captain had endured a tough phase of form in Test cricket and had not scored a hundred since 2019. He broke the jinx in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Ahmedabad where he scored a brilliant 186 and brought up his 28th Test century in the red ball format.

Kohli recently quit the captaincy of the Indian Team after the 20-20 World Cup debacle in 2021. Rohit Sharma has taken charge of the national side. Kohli had a horrible run of form across formats but the Asia Cup in 2022 turned it for him. He hammered a majestic hundred against Afghanistan. Kohli has made his way to question papers as there was one in an English paper. An image of Kohli was given and the students had to write about him. The student had to finish the topic in 100-120 words.

Virat Kohli broke into the top 5 run-getters in ODI cricket recently

Kohli also made it to the top 5 run-getters in ODI cricket as he joined the likes of Sanath Jayasuriya, Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara and Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli at the start of 2022 was a pale shade of his normal self. But, after the star India batter finished as second highest run scorer in the Asia Cup, he carried his form to the 20-20 World Cup in Australia.

In the World Cup, he was India’s best batter. His highest score was an unbeaten 82 which came against arch rivals Pakistan in India’s World Cup opener. That innings helped India win from an impossible situation. Kohli scored 296 runs from 6 games at an average of 98.66 and at a strike rate of 136.40. He was India’s best batter in the tournament. He also scored four half-centuries in the World Cup.

Kohli will now play in the Indian T20 League for Bangalore. Then the former India captian will represent India against Australia at the Test Championship final which will take place in England in June. The final will be held at the Oval. India lost the last Test Championship final in 2021 to New Zealand.
