‘Lucknow ne Hyderabad ko buri tarah se dakhel diya’ – Fans react as LSG beat SRH by 7 wickets in IPL 2023
The Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants locked horns at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in the 58th match of the IPL 2023 on Saturday. SRH won the toss and they chose to bat first.
Even though they lost Abhishek Sharma early, Anmolpreet Singh made a fine 36 off 27 balls with seven fours. He was dismissed by Amit Mishra, eventually. Rahul Tripathi made 20 off 13 balls but he was caught by Quinton de Kock off Yash Thakur. Then Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klassen brought SRH back in the game.
Markram made 28 off 20 balls with two fours and one six, while Klassen continued his form as he made a powerful 47 off 29 balls with three fours and three sixes. Klassen was caught by Prerak Mankad off Avesh Khan. Then Glenn Philips followed suit as he was clean bowled by Krunal Pandya. Abdul Samad whacked the LSG bowlers towards the end to ensure that SRH finish on 37 off 25 balls with one four and four sixes.
Krunal Pandya picked up 2-24 with the ball for Lucknow Super Giants
Krunal picked up 2-24 in his four overs and was LSG’s best bowler. In the second innings, the mayhem continued. Kyle Mayers went early as he was caught by Markram off Glenn Philips for just 2 off 14 balls. De Kock made a quick 29 off 19 balls with three fours and one six. He fell to Mayank Markande. The match could go either way with the score at 54-2. But then the powerful middle order of LSG took over.
Prerak Mankad made a valuable unbeaten 64 off 45 balls with seven fours and two sixes. He was supported by Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran. Stonis smashed a quickfire 40 off 25 balls with two fours and three sixes. Stoinis fell to Abhishek Sharma off Samad. Pooran then came in and in blazing fashion put on his array of strokes against a lacklustre SRH bowling unit.
The West Indian left hander went berserk and made a cracking 44 off 13 balls with three fours and four sixes. This took the living daylights out of SRH and LSG picked up a 7 wicket win to stay in the race for the playoffs.

The final nail in the coffin. A few erratic calls in the middle cost us too much.
