The Lanka Premier League 2023 features 5 teams for the first time.

The Lanka Premier League 2023 is set to begin on July 30th and will take place till 15th August. For the first time, the tournament will feature five teams. Colombo Strikers is the latest team in the league, which will be led by Niroshan Dickwella. The new stars for the team of Sri Lanka are expected to arrive from this tournament.
The tournament features some big names in the cricketing world like Babar Azam, David Miller, Wanindu Hasaranga, Shakib Al Hasan, and so on. The tournament has some familiar names from Sri Lanka like Maheesh Theekshana, Dhananjaya De Silva, Charith Asalanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksha, and so on. There are some emerging players like Sadeera Samarawickrama, Praveen Jayawickrama, and others.

The former Bangladeshi captain can be one of the stars of the tournament. The 36-year-old is one of the most experienced campaigners in the tournament. The Southpaw will be playing for Galle Titans and will be crucial for the success of the team. In 117 T20Is, Shakib has 2382 runs with the bat and 140 wickets with the ball.
