When England played against India in the third one-day international at Lord’s, all the attention was centered around Jhulan Goswami because she was playing the last game in her career for India. She had a good outing and picked up 2 wickets for the national side but towards the end of the match an incident involving Deepti Sharma happened and all the limelight went to the India women all-rounder.

England required only 17 runs to get in the end to get to India’s target of 169 and the match was getting to a tense situation. Charlotte Dean was going all guns blazing for England and could have won it for her side. But Deepti Sharma was very alert as she caught Charlotte Dean napping when she ran her out at non-striker’s end to give India a famous win by 16 runs.

The run-out at the non-striker’s end was a hot topic of discussion on social media. People from India and England took their sides on the issue and the England cricketers appeared to be frustrated with the run-out at the non-striker’s end.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Kaif’s point of view on the run out at the non-striker’s end stunned people of social media. Kaif had a different point of view on the matter. Mohammad Kaif said that after years of playing cricket, batters, at the non-striker’s end, are programmed to leave their crease expecting the ball to be released in one go by the bowler. He added that if a bowler doesn’t release the ball to look for a run-out at the non-striker’s end, it is unfair on the batter.

“Every batter times his/her start when they are at non-striker end. After years of playing, they are mentally programmed when the ball will be released as they are focusing on striker. If a bowler doesn’t release the ball, it’s unfair on batter,” Kaif tweeted.

The former India’s batters’ views on the run-out incident did not go well with the fans as they slammed Mohammad Kaif for siding with England on this matter.
