In a big blow to Delhi Capitals (DC), Anrich Nortje will miss the all-important clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday. He will not take part in the game due to some personal commitments. The South African has been an absolute beast when it comes to bowling in the death overs for DC. The franchise have not had the best of seasons so far with three losses and six wins in nine games.
The David Warner-led side have not set the stage on fire in IPL 2023. In the reverse fixture that happened in Bangalore, RCB beat DC by 23 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. On a tacky pitch, Virat Kohli made an important 50 off 34 balls with six fours and one six. There were contributions from Faf du Plessis at the top who made 22 off 16 balls with three fours and one six.

Mahipal Lomror made a scratchy 26 off 18 balls with two sixes. Glenn Maxwell tried to take the attack to the DC bowlers made scored 24 off 14 balls with three sixes. He was deceived by Kuldeep Yadav when he was trying to up the ante. In the end, Shabaz Ahmed made a precious unbeaten 20 off 12 balls with three fours. Anuj Rawat made an unbeaten 15 off 22 balls with one four. RCB go to 174-6 in their 20 overs.
In the run chase, DC did not get off to the best of starts as they were tottering at 30-4 at the end of the powerplay. Manish Pandey made 50 off 38 balls with five fours and one six. In the end, his innings was not enough, and he was dismissed by Wanindu Hasaranga. Vijaykumar Vyshak made his debut for RCB in the game and came good with figures of 3-20 in his four overs. He also picked up the big wicket of Warner.
DC did not have the best of outings in that game as the RCB bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals. This stopped the run flow as the batters from DC could not get going at all. DC could only make 151-9 in their 20 overs. This gave RCB a much- needed victory at that time in IPL 2023.
