The Team India is currently playing their first Test of the two-match series against South Africa at SuperSport Park in Centurion. South African captain Temba Bavuma won the toss and chose to field, inviting India to bat first. It’s worth noting that in eight attempts, India has never secured a Test series victory in South Africa, making them eager to achieve this milestone in the current series.

However, the team did not have the best of the starts as Indian batters perished in front of South African pacers. The wrecker-in-chief was South African premier pacer Kagiso Rabada. The South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has reached the milestone of 500 wickets in international cricket. Achieving his 14th five-wicket haul in the first Test between IND and SA, Rabada not only disrupted the Indian Cricket Team but also secured a place in the record books.

After achieving this legendary feat, he also became the seventh-highest wicket-taker for the South African team. Rabada has taken 285 wickets in Tests, 157 wickets in ODIs, and 58 wickets in T20Is. However, Shaun Pollock holds the record for the most number of International wickets for Proteas.

Let us look at how Twitter has reacted to this magnificent feat from Rabada:

Rabada demolished Indian batting order

Commencing on his demolition, Rabada started with the crucial dismissal of Team India captain Rohit Sharma early in the day. Kagiso Rabada has consistently targeted Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, marking the sixth instance of the “Hitman” being dismissed by the legendary South African bowler in Test cricket.

The 28-year-old then proceeded to take wickets of key players Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer. This led to the Indian team facing difficulties at 107/5 within 31 overs. With this India faced scare of being restricted below 150. As Team India faced challenges, Rabada also succeeded in dismissing tail-enders Ravichandran Ashwin and Shardul Thakur. This achievement on Day 1 propelled him to the 500-wicket mark.
